Board Of Trustees

On July 1, 2008,

the Diocese approved new bylaws, empowering a Board of Trustees to govern Bishop McCort Catholic High School, with certain powers retained by the Diocese. Comprised of volunteers from various backgrounds, including parents, community leaders, and representatives from the faith community, the Trustees oversee school operations. They convene regular meetings and operate through Pillar Teams focused on finance, curriculum, Catholic identity, development, athletics, admission, and facilities.

Mr. Timothy Clark

Tim is a 1976 graduate of Bishop McCort. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business majoring in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He earned his certification in public accounting in 1985 and is the Chief Financial Officer at Laurel Auto Group. Tim currently serves on the Advisory Council for Easter Seals. Tim and his wife, Toni, have a daughter Kelli. Kelli attended St. Benedict School and graduated from Bishop McCort in 2007 and is a graduate of Duquesne University. Tim and his family are members of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where Toni is a Eucharist Minister and Tim is a Lector.

Mr. Thomas Deter
Co-Vice Chairman

Tom is a 1982 graduate of Bishop McCort. He received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He has worked as a building systems consulting engineer for over 35 years beginning in State College and joining H.F. Lenz Company in Johnstown in 1992. Tom currently serves as the President of H.F. Lenz Company. Tom and his wife Michele, reside in the West Hills and have two sons. Kyle is a 2015 BMCHS graduate and Nick is a 2019 BMCHS graduate. Tom and Michele are members of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish. Tom coached football, basketball and soccer at St. Andrew’s School for 12 years. Tom is active in the community. He also enjoys attending and supporting Bishop McCort activities, such as sports and the arts. Tom began his tenure on the BMCHS Board of Trustees in 2016.

Mr. Christopher Martella
Co-Vice Chairman

Christopher attended Visitation Parish Elementary School and is a 1991 graduate of Bishop McCort High School. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing from Robert Morris University. Chris served as the Board Chair on the Divine Mercy Catholic Academy school board since 2020, before transitioning to the McCort – DMCA board in 2023. Chris is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 467 and is also on the board of directors for the Cambria County Association for the Blind & Handicapped. Chris is married to his wife Erin, and they reside in Richland Township with their three children all of whom attend Bishop McCort Catholic Elementary. The Martella family are members of Saint Benedict Parish.

Mr. William L. Ingram

William L. Ingram is a 1979 graduate of Bishop Walsh High School, Cumberland, Maryland, and a 1983 graduate of Mount Saint Mary’s University. Mr. Ingram is a Certified Public Accountant and current Operating Partner/General Manager of Thomas Buick GMC Truck. Bill is active in the Rotary Club, Our Mother of Sorrows Finance Committee, Treasurer of the Sunnehanna Amateur Foundation and Board of Directors Finance Sub- Committee, President of Central Pa General Motors Buick GMC Advertising Group. Bill and his wife, Kathy, have 5 children that have graduated from Bishop McCort. Bill and his family are members of Our Mother of Sorrows Parish where he serves as Welcome minister and Small group co-leader.

Mrs. Michelle Neumann

Michelle (Lipomi) Neumann attended Our Mother of Sorrows grade school, and is a 1994 graduate of Bishop McCort. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State University, and has spent her career in advertising sales and marketing with Comcast and now HigherEdJobs. Michelle served on the Divine Mercy Catholic Academy school board since 2019, before transitioning to the McCort-DMCA board in 2023. Michelle is active in volunteering and co-chairs the Junior Golf program at Sunnehanna Country Club. She is married to another McCort alum, David Neumann (’91), has two children at McCort in grades 11 and 9, and is a member of Our Mother of Sorrow Parish.

Mr. Richard L. Phillips

Rick is originally from San Diego, CA and graduated from San Diego State University with a BS in Political Science and a BA Economics, and holds an MBA from Boston University. He served as an aviator in the United States Marine Corps for 22 years in post all over the world and currently works at DRS Technologies as the Operations Manager. Rick and his wife Tish have three children; Morgan, Ridge and Reagan all have graduated from Bishop McCort. Rick and his family are members of Our Mother of Sorrows Church where he has served as a Eucharistic Minister, Life Teen Facilitator, and RCIA sponsor.

Very Reverend James Crookston

Father Jim, class of 1963, served as business manager and principal of Bishop McCort during the 80s. His post-secondary education was at St. Francis University in Loretto and the Pennsylvania State University. His doctorate in education administration emphasized organizational sociology and secondary education curriculum. The founding of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha, Springs Mills, was in part the outcome of a PSU sociology course project in community organization. During pastoral assignments in Lock Haven and Altoona, Father Jim working with parish and school families expanded the home parishes’ consolidated elementary schools. As rector of Saint John Gualbert Cathedral, he and parishioners have conducted Christian Initiation for Adults and Children and sponsor year-round Christian Life and Service activities that include visits to the Cathedral’s sister parish of Saint Croix in Santa Cruz, Jamaica.

The former sports editor for the Crusher Times/McCort Mirror enjoys walking the football sidelines and managing hydration for the boys basketball team.

Mr. John F. Paros

John is a 1975 graduate of Bishop McCort. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He has earned his Chartered Life Underwriter(CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant(ChFC), and Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow(LUTCF) designations. He founded PAROS FINANCIAL in 2015. Prior to that John had a career with MetLife that spanned over 33 years in sales and sales management overseeing operations in Western PA, West Virginia, and Eastern Ohio. John was also an Adjunct Professor of Business at Mount Aloysius College.
John and his wife Debbie have two children, Elizabeth and Jonathan. Both attended St. Benedict School and graduated from Bishop McCort in 2004 and 2007. They are also both graduates of St. Francis University. John and his family are members of St. Benedict Catholic Church.

Reverend David Peles

Father Dave is a Johnstown native and graduate of Westmont Hilltop High School. He is a graduate of Saint Francis University and Mount Saint Mary Seminary. He was ordained May 19, 1984 and went on to serve as Parochial Vicar at Saint John Gualbert Cathedral and Saint Clement Parish. While at these parishes, he also served as Hospital Chaplain. He became Pastor of Saint Mary Parish in Nanty Glo in 2001 until 2009 when he was assigned as Pastor of Saint Benedict Parish, where he presently serves. Father Dave has served on the Bishop McCort Catholic High School Board of Trustees from 2010-2018. He presently is a member of the Board of Trustees for Divine Mercy Catholic Academy/Bishop McCort Catholic High School.

Dr. Daniel Santoro

Dr. Daniel J. Santoro was born and raised in South Plainfield, NJ. He attended Sacred Heart School in South Plainfield and is a 1975 graduate of South Plainfield High School. Dr. Santoro received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Lebanon Valley College in 1979, a Master of Arts Degree in Sociology from the College of William and Mary in 1981, and a PhD. from the University of New Hampshire in Sociology in 1989. Dr. Santoro was an instructor at St. Anselm College of Manchester, NH. He is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown where he has been employed since 1989 and received the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1999. He began coaching football at McCort in 1996 and joined the varsity staff in 2003. Appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2022, Dr. Santoro lives in Westmont with his wife, Andrea. He is a member of St. Clement’s Parish and Andrea belongs to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.

Dr. Matthew J. Radkowski

Dr. Matthew Radkowski is the orthodontist/owner of Allegheny Orthodontic Associates in Richland. He graduated from Allegheny College and then went on to dental school at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. He followed that with a Masters Degree in Orthodontics from Saint Louis University. Dr. Radkowski, along with his wife Marsha, returned to Western PA and moved to Johnstown in 2006. They are members of St. Benedict Church and have four children in the Bishop McCort/DMCA family. He is very active in coaching youth sports and has served on the DMCA Board and Athletic Association for the last few years.

Mr. John Lovette III
Attorney at Law

John B. Lovette III, Esquire is a native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania where he currently resides with his wife and child. He is a graduate of Penn State University, and the Ohio Northern School of Law.
John has been practicing law in the civil and criminal courts of Pennsylvania since 2006 and is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, Cambria County Bar Association, and Federal Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Attorney Lovette is a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. His daughter is enjoying her time as a student at Divine Mercy Catholic Academy.

Mr. Christa Curtis

Christa (Holliday) Curtis is originally from Somerset, PA. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown in 2007. Mrs. Curtis has worked for the family businesses for the past 16 years including Curtis Tavern, LLC., Curtis Rentals, LLC., and Cambria Roofing and Remodeling, Inc. Christa served on the Divine Mercy Catholic Academy school board in 2022-23 before the merger of the DMCA/BMCHS Board of Trustees in 2023. Christa and her husband Brian have two children; Abigail (8th grade BMCHS) and Wynn (6th grade DMCA). They attend Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Parish, where Christa volunteers as Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Christa also serves on the DMCA PTO Leadership Committee and Crusher Kingdom Football Boosters.

Mr. Gary Vitko
Attorney at Law, Solicitor

Attorney Gary Vitko serves as Solicitor for Bishop McCort Catholic High School and Divine Mercy Catholic Academy. He is a life-long resident of Johnstown and is on the coaching staff for Crusher Varsity Football. Attorney Vitko obtained his under graduate degree from Pitt-Johnstown and graduated from Western Michigan University’s Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1996. He is presently an Assistant District Attorney for Somerset County. Attorney Vitko attends Resurrection Parish, where he serves on Parish Council.
